I have just purchased these Logitech 5.1 Surround sound System for my PC
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JJM8XE/ref=ox_ya_os_product
because my old speakers have popped already and I wanna know How I could connect these speakers to my TV My TV is a Sony Bravia 32″ TV and it does come with a PC/HDMI 1 Audio in port and I want to know what adapter I need or how can I make this work to get sound from my PC and TV in the surround sound system? Thanks in advance !
What you need to know is what sound OUTPUTS your TV has (not inputs!)…Maybe it has Digital (SPDIF)..(Optical or coaxial)
And what INPUTS the speakers have..If you get a speaker system or amplifier with SPDIF input and your TV has SPDIF output, then it should be suitable…
The only other way is if the TV has a sound out or headphone socket which you can connect to the front left and right inputs on the speakers..
I’ve got a set of those in my shed that I got free from Dell, they are pretty crap, even for a pc.
I can’t remember off-hand what inputs they have, will go and have a look in a bit and edit this post, but you will need to connect as Nel has suggested.
*edit – As I thought, no digital input.
If your TV has RCA output sockets (probably red and white) you will need a cable for that, and connect it to the video game console adapter supplied with the speakers, which is double female RCA to stereo mini jack, which goes in the green socket on the back of the subwoofer.
You will need to enable the “matrix” mode on the wired remote, it won’t be true surround sound though.
You will probably just need a twin male to male RCA extension cable, which you can buy in most electrical shops.
