[Still nt solvd] Laptop heats up to over 60 degrees celcius!
January 25th, 2020
My Toshiba Tecra TE2100, after using it for just over half an hour, heats up underneath EXTREAMELY hot. I ran a temperature program on my laptop once and it said at that point the computer was over 70 degreees celcius. Thats the highest ive seen so far. Now it stays at 60 degrees celcius.
I try not to use it for long incase i damage it by making it overheat or something else.
Does anybody know what I can do to stop my laptop heating up that hot?
UPDATE!!!!
I put a wooden placemat under the laptop and then a thermometer under the place mat and it still measured 50 degrees celcius!
heat synk dead?
idk if u know how to open it check inside see if the thermal paste is still under, also check if fan is working at norm speed
Whats the surface its on?

Sorry im not the computer expert so i dont know what that is…
Whats the surface its on?
It doesnt matter what surface it goes on, all the time it gets to this temperature
I suggest you disassemble the laptop and clear the dust. usually that’s the case at least to me. esp toshiba laptops dont have really good ventilation.
then your might be ~ censored ~ or your thermal paste dissapeared O.O weeeeee
It should automatically shut down if it comes near 70C. Or i guess it varies i have a Toshiba laptop as well mines from 3 years ago and auto shutdowns down if it ever reaches 65C.
What i recommend is checking your power plan to Balanced then go to settings for it. Set things to save energy that way they wont run at full. For processor in Battery/Plugged Minimum i set mine to 3% and for Maximum Processor state in battery is 50% and 100% when plugged in. You can reduce it to 80% when plugged in. That way it wont ever run at full. When CPU runs at full then you have chances of overheating. Other things i notice to stop my laptop from overheating is having it on top of a chillpad fan so i turn fan when i notice its getting hot. Having latest service packs and BIOS will help too. Also use air can to clean out the fan.

Okay so this is for everyone. By the way my TecraTE2100’s battery pack is stuffed. It holds 2 minutes of charge so my laptop is always plugged into the wall. But to this user above: I would think so aswell that it would automatically turn off but yea. PS the laptop is (i think) from 2003-2004.
Okay so ive just put an electric thermometer under my laptop as i am on it right now. it has been on for about 45 mins. Its a thermometer that u put in your armpit when you are ill to check your temperature. This thermometer hasnt even given me a temperature. it just says “H!” meaning very hot.
Get a laptop fan. Your laptop rests on top of it while it blows air to the bottom. I had a crappy Acer laptop that literally overheated and restarted itself. I had no idea why it became that way … I guess it’s due to age and faulty manufacturing.
