steam update error

when STEAM is being update after sometime it displays an error message saying “Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again “

Do you have a stable internet connection? Might be that Steam doesn’t like it if you internet line drops out a lot
Run a test on speedtest/pingtest to find out

As above , be 100% sure your connection is holding up you could ping -t the gateway to see if it times out , beyond that ensure no firewalls or security suites are preventing it from making a connection . Additionally ensure the steam client isn’t set to use any proxy .
