Answer #1
Did you had that problem before or it just started.
Install latest version i.e. 16.0.0.614(a) – that is what I have.
Maybe it will fix the problem.
What else you can try – try to find offline updates, maybe you can update it manually, at least you can in latest version but don’t remember about previous versions.
Answer #2
same thing with 15.0 or 16.0. already used both but no result…
Answer #3
Go to Settings/Additional/Network and check your settings there. If using a proxy, try the connection without proxy.
I had the same problem, with it not updating and, after reading the help file, I made a few changes and the Update worked.

already did but no success
Answer #5
Have you tried an uninstall/reinstall? Have you contacted Support (assuming you aren’t using a pirated version)? Could there be something in Windows Firewall that is blocking it?
Answer #6
if you are not using vpn or proxy , just go to options , to there protection , to there firewall , click networks . there should be 2 , 1 for internet and 1 for ethernet try to set them same such as both public network.
and , do you have problems with this new private browsing enabled ? if i enable it , i cant click on some parts on some sites such as gamespot news section articles. can only open them in new tab. if i disable beacon adtracking etc… it works.

Opened 20 random links from gamespot news section and all works fine.

No idea here.
Either try to find update so you can update it manually, or reinstall kaspersky every 30 days using web installer, that way your kaspersky should be up to date.

Either try to find update so you can update it manually, or reinstall kaspersky every 30 days using web installer, that way your kaspersky should be up to date.

you need to enable private browsing through protection components first tex it is disabled by default , then just click on any news , dont open it in new tab.
, you need to disable vpn and proxy if you are using them , then try to update through your local connection. if it fails again , uninstall program but be careful , uninstaller asks you to which files to keep , uncheck all to make a complete uninstallation. after uninstall restart pc and search C drive for a word of kasper , probably it wont find anything but just an event log record. if it finds other folders and files , delete them too. you cant delete that event log by normal means but can clear its contents. i doubt it will make any difference.
type eventvwr on command line and run it , on the left side under the application and service logs , you will see kaspersky event log , right click on it and clear its contents without saving. now you are completely free from the remnants of latest installation. then install again with this tiny installer which downloads the necessary files and enable 30 days trial , do not change any settings also it is important you dont use proxy and vpn at that time , just click update.
http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/internet-security
if the problem persists , it is related to something on your computer not the software and it will be really hard to detect it from here. also ask what changes he did if he remembers them
edit : also disable scanning of encrypted connections which is disabled by default if you enabled it through network settings. https scanning may cause problems with update server as kaspersky help mentions it. if you follow the uninstall step above , it will be disabled by default so you dont need to deal with anything. if you are trying to use cracked version or smth like that , problem may also be related to it.

Did all what you said, and sadly same problem again?
Answer #12
Have you delete all kaspersky folder left over when you done uninstall kis

As far as i know, i think YES
Answer #14
Have you delete all kaspersky folder left over when you done uninstall kis
As far as i know, i think YES

kaspersky uninstalls without a problem generally but i also told to seek C drive for the word of “kasper” and delete anything you find ,if you did that then there is no other folders.
if it was only 2016 version , i would say that it may be related to software itself but when same thing happens on both 2015 and 2016 , it is greater possibility that problem is related to your pc or some settings in it. i told all what i can think of and out of ideas . it would be very hard to diagnose the problem like that since it can be one out of hundreds of things. you best bet are the people who encountered same problem and solved it somehow or kaspersky’s own tech support.

(1) Disable Kaspersky Self-Defense: Settings > Additional > Self-Defense.
(2) Locate C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP15.0.2(or the version of kasperky you have)\Bases\KLAVA and delete the files in the folder BUT NOT the folder itself (ATTENTION !!! you MUST enable “Hidden Items” under the VIEW tab to see the ProgramData folder).
(3) Enable Kaspersky Self-Defense.
(4) Start a manual update.
wait awhile because it download all the definition databases from the begining and dont bother about the licence problem alert
that for sure solve the problem

why you cant find those ? their path is correct just the number under the Kaspersky Lab folder may change according to your kaspersky version , using 15.0.2 version , if you install newest one it will be AVP16.0.0.
also you need to do enable view of hidden items as he said cuz the parent folder Program Data is also hidden by itself. maybe thats why you cant find the location. other than that everything is correct , there MUST be a folder like that if you have KIS installed.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/394-hidden-files-folders-show-hide.html
this will help you if you dont know how to do it. apply option 1 , step 2 , dont go further , they are related to protected system files.
that suggestion have a chance to solve your problem since it will wholly download the definitions as package not as incremental update.

Found it and deleted, but now it says databases are corrupted?
Answer #20
have you deleted the KLAVA folder itself ? or just contents inside of it ? if you have deleted folder re-create a new folder with a same name , if you deleted only its contents and getting this corrupt error then we are stuck again unless someone will come with a different idea.

then unfortunately we are in waiting mode again actually if you have another pc or anything that can use kaspersky products , can you try to install a kaspersky product on it by using your current connection(very important)
there might be a rare thing about your connection which is the connection between your modem and kaspersky servers surpasses the node number the current internet protocol supports which is 15. it happened to me before on wbb , when you pass 15 nodes , you get timeout. nodes are things like your modem , internet box on the street , central server of ISP provider in your city and it goes until you reach your destination address.
remember this is only a very rare possibility since kaspersky have servers all around the world to prevent this by automatically connecting you to the closest. so try to install a kaspersky product on something else with the same connection you use , if it is possible. it is better than doing nothing.
Answer #23
i use two laptops and one it works another doesn’t
Answer #24
again we are in stand by mode then
however you can look your dns settings
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15037-dns-addressing-how-change-windows-7-a.html
follow the guide until step 7 , and look for the setting “obtain dns server address automatically” if it is selected , if it is not select it and try updating. write down your current dns addresses somewhere if you have made any tweaks , if default settings again fails to update kaspersky you can revert back to your old settings. also check if your both laptops have the same dns settings.
Answer #25
bro am really sorry to waste your time but tried before an didnt work
Answer #26
no it is not wasting , i re-remember things in the process did you try formatting your laptop ? lol
Answer #27
thats why i am asking here, to avoid that
Answer #28
hahah , if it was another kind of software more people would come up with more ideas but anti virus software are just like black box due to their nature and self protection. only their customer support knows how it exactly works and which conditions may cause which problems. so stand by mode again
Answer #29
You could try moving the database files from the working PC to the non working. Actually you could transfer all the files and if it’s an issue of corruption this will surely fix the problem. How many networks adapter do you have? Is the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file untouched?
Can you run this program and check Kaspersky connections when you press update?

The current IP protocol hasn’t got that limit. Actually to reach the other side of the planet with your connection you pass through thousands of nodes in that sense. Try searching the Internet about this limit. These are the official specifications that don’t mention a 15 nodes limit https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc791
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2460

Answer #30
you have more documents to read for me internet may not be true term but some network types which are build with specific type of OS , have that limit. such as
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/5a071685-9078-4b09-a93f-edcd490a0b1a/windows-7-limits-ad-hoc-network-to-16-nodes
it was one and half year back that i encountered the problem and solved it so cant remember the specifics and i have no intention to dig in again due to complex nature of it anyway i just told it with very low possibility of success since there is no other ideas to help him. and problem was not related to that thing at all as a result.
carrying out database files may work but carrying out the whole folder probably wont. kaspersky registers itself to that specific pc during the installation if you carry all files , it will likely to cause more errors but it is again better than doing nothing .
Answer #31
hmmm, i don’t know i am surprised too about this problem. I got some basic knowledge about Pc and Internet but this problem is becoming more defiant
Answer #32
It seems that easiest thing to do is e.g. if you are using pirated kaspersky, it is easiest thing to reinstall kaspersky every 30 days using web installer, and after or before that just reset the trial.
That way every 30 days your kaspersky will be up to date, and I’m sure you won’t be “infected” or sth in those 30 days, right.
And reinstall only takes few minutes.
I would go with my “solution” if you don’t find any way to update your kaspersky database.

when dealing with computer staff , sometimes you come to a point where you find yourself , has wasted far more time and effort compared to just formatting pc
Answer #34
I got curious to resolve without formatting it

Yes i can use but Kaspersky doesn’t run update again
Answer #36
I solved, thanks to all for your efforts
How I did if anybody want to know: Started laptop on Safe mode and scanned via Malwarebytes Anti-Malware found an amount of malwares and deleted all. After restart updates of kaspersky worked perfectly
Thanks again
Answer #37
glad you have fixed it , i just wonder about something.
malwarebytes didnt detect same malware on a scan on normal boot ? or you just only scanned on safe mode ?

Malwarebytes didnt run on normal mode, tried lot of times but couldnt started. Thats why i used Safe Mode with networking
Answer #39
then you had some interesting and powerful malware , actually i m surprised that both of those praised av software kaspersky and malwarebytes have found themselves in a desperate situation on normal boot against a malware.

Malwarebytes couldn’t even start, Kaspersky couldnt be updated and so it was inefficient to remove them. PS: If you are curious to know, MBAM found and deleted out 577 threats
