[SOLVED]Internet Explorer problem

January 27th, 2020

Hey guys. I recently started having a problem with my internet explorer. I have both IE and Firefox. Firefox works perfectly, but when I try to go to websites on IE, it opens up Firefox. Now, I do like Firefox better, but i would like to know why this is happening. To clarify a bit more, i’ll explain step by step the problem. 1) I open IE
2) I enter web address in the bar
3) I press enter
4) Firefox then opens, with the website I entered
5) IE remains open, and at my homepage Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

That is a very strange thing to happen, but I can assure you that this is not caused by IE (since I doubt they’d pass any of their users on to FF like that). I just have no idea what could be causing such a behaviour.
I am leaning on maybe FireFox has an option of being your primary online browser (just like every other browser do) & that when you allow it to be so, it changes some codes in other browsers so you cannot use them if desired? I know that’s stupid, but this thing isn’t supposed to happen either but it is, so I’m trying to make sense out of it.
Answer #2
That actually makes a lot of sense, the only thing I don’t understand is why it is just happening. It just started a few days ago, and I’ve had firefox and IE together for over a year.
Answer #3
Could it possibly be some sort of Spyware lodged in your system?
I suggest you do a full system scan for Spywares & Adwares along, I am thinking it could be brought by one of these two.
Do you have an anti-spyware/adware software in your PC?
Answer #4
I use SpyBot Search and Destroy, and it seems to clean up my system pretty well. I’ve also had that for over a year now.
Answer #5
Ah, I think it’s time for a reinstall? Maybe for IE, but you can reinstall FF as well if you want, maybe that should fix it.
