Does anyone know if the following DVD drive can write on DVD+5 DL cd’s?
SAMSUNG DVD-RW DL 6xx4W/6xx5WD/2xx5W Serienr.: P8006RXP799466

DVD-/+R5 is a single layer dvd
DVD-/+R9 is a dual layer dvd
yes your dvd+/-rw drive does support dual layer dvd’s which are DVD-/+R9
i personally recommend getting the DVD-R9 than the DVD+R9
but that’s just me, you’ll need to experiment and see which one is easier on your dvd player/media centers.

If you have Nero installed, you can open Nero Start Smart and choose Extras > Get System Info, and it will examine your drives and put check marks where appropriate (read/write) for the drive thats in the box at the top. If you do not have Nero installed, you can still go to their site and download the Utility “Nero Info Tool” which is the same thing but a standalone application. It will tell you alot of other things about your system as well.
