Slow YouTube HD streaming
January 31st, 2020
I’m having a problem with YouTube streaming in HD. I have a 24mbps connection and should easily be able to handle HD streaming from YouTube. However, when I choose 720p/1080p it still has to buffer in some parts of the video. The strange thing is that for VEVO on YouTube 1080p streams extremely quickly and a 3 min song in completely buffered within 20sec. Also on VIMEO I can stream HD very quickly. Any advice?
Thanks all!
I have the same thing, I think everyone does. I think it has something to do with the server that the files are stored.
You could also try some youtube tweaks if you are using Firefox.
Vevo, as Premium Partner could have “primar” reserved servers, high connections as boost. I would try to download the two files (vevo one& one other) with an Firefox Addon or Direct Youtube downloader.
so can any one else confirm that they have the same issue? i just don’t understand why youtube would enable hd if their servers can’t even handle it
i just watched one of my own videos…in 720p…and it was fine…whats your pc specs? has it always done this? or just recently?
can you maybe give me the link of that video so that I can check?

edit: i just checked and when downloading the HD video the speed is around 130kbps?
contact edwoodweb or when he gets on he should be able to answer it…he is a pc guru…
Thanks!
720p shouldn’t be too slow, but I got an gaming rig and 1080p will take some time to fully load, I just download the clip by IDM, downloads at about 5mb/s
