Skype Call Incoming Number Question
January 29th, 2020
I’m in the US and I have credit in my Skype account. I need to make some calls to UK but I don’t want to show that I’m calling from US. So when I call, will it display a US number or a UK number?
Thanks for any response.
EDIT: I don’t have premium account or additional features like call forwarding or skype number, I only have credits.
I seem to remember TOR can help in some way
ED:
I`m sure U can use a fake number/name/address etc;
some sites out there that do that.
Probably a US number, But if you wanna know for sure, Then make proper use of your credits and send yourself an SMS via Skype. Why does it matter to you, If I may ask?

I have no idea what that is. Do you know if a US number will be shown?

Sending SMS doesn’t make sense since I’m in the US and I’ll receive from a US number. The reason you asked for is that I don’t want the other person that I’m calling from the US. I need to find out some information for which it has to be a local number.

I’d think the same number would be used when dialing out.
And for the record, There are no country-based number restrictions with SMS’s (One can definitely receive an incoming SMS from a foreign number! It doesn’t have to be a number that’s based in the same country) The reason you asked for is that I don't want the other person that I'm calling from the US.
Why is that exactly?
Are you trying to prank or harass another individual?

Kind of, yes. I need to see if a person picks up the phone who I think might pick up. But that person cannot know it’s me calling. Well it’s my wife, and I’m trying to figure out if she has a 2nd phone that I’m unaware of.
EDIT: If anyone can tell me the answer for certain, I’d really appreciate it.
Quite a strange story, But I’ll take your word for it!
Anyways, If you wanna assure she’d see a UK number, Why not just pay for a Skype number? Surely you could buy a UK one if you want (From what I understand, You can choose a number from any of the supported countries!)
Also, You can then set that number as your caller id, As explained here:

What about the free calls?
there are no good free service beside buying a uk(skype) number.
