Should I re-format my laptop?

August 11th, 2013

So my laptop is pre-loaded with all these factory settings that comes with company brand programs. (You know, from Acer, HP, etc.)
Would it be recommended to do a fresh re-format with a regular OS Installation CD, and not the factory-prepared one?

Yap… Download fresh copy of Windows (untouched ISO) and install…. Then you will install whatever you need/want!

f you are not having issues with your laptop then I would simply uninstall what you dont want. There is also a program out there that was made to delete manufacturers junk called PC Decrapifier. Download, install and run it.

Once done, I would also recommend downloading CCleaner which is a good program to help clean out registry, temp files, etc.

but if u wont have issues finding drivers and such for the computer then reformatting might be easier to get rid of the bloatware but sometimes that makes some random piece of ur computer stop working because u dont have the right drivers

As long as I have Driver Genius, finding the correct drivers shouldn’t be an issue. But thanks for the advice guys.

Download all the drivers first then format it.
First thing I did was format my laptop, hate all the trail versions etc they put on.
