Safe Deposit Box at Bank of America

August 3rd, 2016

Hi guys. i lost $50.000 in cash at bank of america . i guess when i take it out from my safe deposit box and forgot to put it back in. the next person came in that room would have take it. i spoke with people at the bank but they said nothing they can do because there were no camara in the safe room. so my question to you guys is. what can i do? please give me your best advice. me and my parents are heart broken right now.
Answer #1
Is that $50 or $50,000?
$50 lost is nothing to be upset about. If it’s $50,000 how on Earth could you forget about that much cash?
I guess you could possibly ask them to check their logs to see who signed in after you. Although you can’t really do much with that information, because it’s cash and the person can just hang on to it and spend it whenever and wherever they want without it being traced.

hi , its $50,000. i was thinking about that too. i’ll check with them tomorrow about their log book.

hi Badboy, i really don’t need this kind of advice. first of all. im a respect engineer working for qualcomm right now. second, i don’t have a lot of money like you said. i just need suggestions. that’s all. if i can’t do anything about it then its fine. lost is lost. i don’t upset about it. just feeling sad. that’s half of my whole year salary.

@ BAD BOY
that was really low. despite what you think of the deed, there was no need to rub the poor guys nose in it.
shame on you!!!
The more I think about the lack of compassion in your response, the more it disturbs me.
I can only hope that it’s the babblings of an ignorant child.
If not, there’s a legitimate chance that you suffer from antisocial personality disorder. Your lack of compassion should serve as a warning to parents about the importance of technique in toilet training.

:
Forgive the folks that are giving you a hard time .. There are alot of trolls here so people tend to just be numb around here and have a hard time determining BS and frankly i dont blame them! 50K is alot of money! If youre sincere im sorry for your situation! Why do you have it in a safety deposit box instead of your account! Im not trying to be funny but if you had a gun and fake passports in there as well you would be jason bourne!
Anyway.. The bank has camera, alot of cameras so even if they didnt have eyes in the safe room they should have a remote idea of who was in the room next!
Next, call the cops and file a report! Do you have a trace of the money ? did you just suddenly run into 50k or did you have some kind of trust or did you recently have the money withdrawn from a cd or from another account!?
If you cant account for it somehow you cant just call the cops and say you know what i really had 50k!! They are gonna act like the people in this thread and say sure buddy!!
Also if you somehow recover the money through B of A and you had not reported it then be prepared to be taxed for it! Thats 50k in capital gains tax !!??
I doubt the bank will give you footage of the security tapes but they will give it to the police! So first step is to call the police if you can account for it! Depends on the lengths you want to go to recover youre cash but most banks have a have a parking lot with cameras in it as well! If someone found 50k i bet they pulled it out while in the car to see the $$! If i were a betting man i would say they walked very fast to the car too!!! In conjunction with a log of who was in the safe room next and camera footage…
Its gonna take alot of cooperation from BOFA but … worth a shot! Keep in mind an employee could easily have grabbed it as well!

hi : thanks alot . i will try my best and i will update the results.
Answer #12
I can’t believe you left 50K just laying around,What on earth were you thinking? Were you stoned/drunk?
Anyways as said above,They surely have cameras everywhere else so they can
check the footage and see who entered after you and if they came out
with a bulgy bag or briefcase or looked nervous,But of course they’re
not gonna order their security staff to look into it on your behalf,You
must get the police involved.

No problem man, good luck…
Like i was saying i dunno how you obtained the 50k and for how long youve had it but i if you got it from a financial institution and you pulled it in a lump some then they probably gave it to you in sequential bills and they have the range! That may help law enforcement with tracking it but i dunno how helpful the banks or the police will be! Contrary to popular belief the banks are not the good guys! But i dont have to tell you that im sure youre read/watch the news!
On the other hand grand larceny is grand larceny! Hope you can find a good detective to help you out! Also neighboring businesses may oblige with camera help or even may recall someone spending an obnoxious amount of money!
Good luck,
let us know how it goes..
