Reverting Back To Vista From Windows 7-HELP!

January 24th, 2020

Okay, so by now I’m 110% that Windows 7 is another scheme by Microsoft to make people fork over money, but that’s another thing…..I upgraded from Vista Premium to Windows 7 Premium about a month ago and slowly found out that NONE of my Adobe programs work at all-regardless of what I tried it DOES NOT WORK (as well as a few others). Now I want to go back to Vista…can I just “buy” a Vista disc and run/install it or do I need to do something else since I’m “downgrading”?? I tried a system restore but it only allows the system restore to when Windows 7 was installed…I can’t do the factory settings restore (bought the laptop as Vista, upgraded to 7)…dammit…..even after the restore my c drive is showing .dll files from programs that have been gone for weeks and I can’t delete them…when I try it says the file is open or something like that and I can’t delete it….Windows 7 blows dogs. Please-any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
ps-no “windows.old” folder either so forget that….dammit.

Answer #1
you buy 7 ?
do you have a restore option on the boot screen ?
did you install the adobe apps (or preinstalled ?) in vista and do you still have the installers ?
if you do then do a clean install of 7, not and upgrade, then install those apps
Answer #2
I agree with , I have 7 Ultimate 64bit, and run Photoshop, etc.. just fine. BTW. Ccleaner should get rid of the useless DLL files. It’s a freeware hosted on its name dot com.

That will solve it. And if you don’t have a legit copy of Win7 search it on here.

I run all CS4 products on Win7 Home premium x64 fine. Do a new install not an upgrade – will fix ALL of your issues

I did the upgrade from Vista (sent from Microsoft). Can I just re-install Windows 7 again with the same disk? I have seen that the 64bit has no problems with Adobe programs…is that the same for 32bit? And THANKS!!! I’ll try that new install now and let ya all know how I make out.

Yeah same thing for 32bit. Most Adobe programs are compatible with both 32bit & 64bit so you shouldn’t have any problems if you followed the right directions. And just for future user :
Windows 7 Compatibility Center.

i have to say, windows 7 is possibly the only thing microsoft hasn’t screwed up since xp and that wasn’t all that great.
windows 7 has done everything, no longer a power hog (vista), faster than xp/vista and extreamly compatible.
it sound very much like you have a virus and also you most likely haven’t updated, there were a few compatibility issues with the original release but most have been fixed. i have only found one thing that doesn’t work and that was a driver for windows 98 that xp wont even accept.
Answer #9
if you think vista is better than 7 then you got problems…no offense
Answer #10
vista = crapware.
If you don't have any useful input to add, please don't post at all. Thank you -
