Replacing the icon of a interent shortcut…

I have made a WBB icon and wish to have a shortcut to WBB on my desktop and ofcause i dont want a ugly FF or IE logo when i could have the WBB logo…
Heres what happends when i try to change the icon





And once i click Apply and OK i get this…

What am i doing wrong or how can i get arround this?
BTW im using XP Home SP3

Hmm, check to make sure 64×64 resolution is your current res for your icons (right click on desktop > properties …)
make sure the icon is a .png file which is standard image format for windows os icons.
Try another icon, perhaps it’s just that icon.
Try another format, htm/html.
Try another link.
if none of that helps, reformat and reinstall OS (i recommend vista ultimate x86)

The standard icon for XP is .ico
The icon works on other file types
im not going to reformat to change a icon lol
