Replacing a peugeot206 door check strap- Help would be great

I know this is a mad thing to ask but I have a peugeot 206 GTI & have to replace the door check strap, so what I want to know is is it easy? Do I need to take the door card off to get access? what sort of tools will I need?
any help you can provide would be gretaly received
