Reformating On A New Computer With XP

January 30th, 2020

I Just Wanted To Ask Just To Be On The Cautious Side. Anyways, I Recently Bought A New Computer That Came With Windows Vista Home Premium. But, It Came With Too Much Added Junk, So I Decided To Re-Format Using Windows XP Student Edition Integrated December 2007.
Now, Before I Actually Do It, I Just Wanted To Make Sure That I Didn’t Mess Anything Up By Doing So. Will There Be Any Adverse Side Effects To Installing Windows XP Onto A Computer That Came With Windows Vista? That Is All
Thank You For Your Help.

Answer #1
No, there’s no real adverse effects, but just make sure you have all the drivers you’ll need to install right away (graphics, sound card etc.)
Goodluck. (You can always sell your vista serial haha)

Ummm, I Know This Sounds Stupid But What Do You Mean Drivers?
Answer #3
Well, hopefully when you bought the computer it came with some cds with software for your computer (they would have installed it all, but they should have given you the cds)
The software would be the drivers for your motherboard/sound card/graphics card etc.)
If they didn’t give you a cd, then you’ll need to hunt those drivers down by hand.
The drivers are softwares that controls a specific hardware device properly, if you don’t have them, stuff like your video and sound may not function properly, or maybe not at all.

No, It Didn’t Come With Any CD’s, And Is It Really Important?
And If They Are, How Can I Find Out Which One’s I Need.
(And Before This New One, I Also Had A Old Computer That I Reformated Quite A Few Times And I Never NEeded Any Extra CD’s For Driver’s)
Answer #5
Well just make sure you make some image backup just in case you changed your mind…for drivers..you mostly only need to know what chipset version you have and the type of your graphics card…you parobably can get both from the Nvidia website..

Here, I Found The Page Of My Computer With It’s Specs:

Thats The One I Bought, Would I Need Anything? Because I Didn’t Get Any CD’s With It.
EDIT – Heres A Copy Of All The Installed Drivers:
http://~ Disallowed image host ~/6y04tw4.jpg
You need to get all of those drivers in XP version..
Don’t go formatting your PC until you do ….
With old PC’s , XP usually had all the drivers, but with new ones you need to get your own and save then to a disk or another partition on your hard drive
