Recovery Drive Laptop

January 27th, 2020

Hello
Long time listener, first time caller
I have an acer laptop
It has a diagnostic kind of partition on primary hard drive, which cant be seen.
If i lose windows, i can press F(something) and go in to recovery console and load widows setup
Now question is how easy is it to make such a drive, if it is supported by bios, AND what kind of files are re in what format?
Anyone knows what I am talking about?

yep, recovery drive is just a regular drive.
In fact it’s just a copy of your original ‘C’ drive, and what recovery tool does, is simply overwrite content of C drive with it, wiping everything.
You can’t see it, because mbr was edited, so it makes it hard to see, but some tools like Acronis director or True Image Home can explore it.
Even Linux Live-CD can access it, one day i may put my hands on making a DVD version of content n claim back those wasted clusters…

Thanks for pointers, I will see wat I can do ith acronis, i’ve heard that name before
I am planning to make something like that on my g.fs computer, but with an ghost image kind of thing, with all drivers etc and good apps. that way, she can just press a button and load up everything. This means i dont even have to ask her to put in a cd, or how to locate a ghost file.
Just goto rercovery console, and get her stuff back on(her stuff= updated windows with her thingies)
