I’m afraid the only thing that can fix that is adobe photoshop or similar. with a lot of work. some data bytes were mangled, and there’s no way to fix that other than editing the picture. unless, the picture is saved in the recycle bin! check there. btw, the small pictures are thumbnails, which are different than the full size pictures, that’s why they appear good. too bad your antivirus didn’t stop the virus!. but if you’re running win 7 or above the UAC should have asked for permission to run the virus!.

Try BadCopyPro.
You should backup any removable data often. eg. You go out for the day and take some pics with your phone/camera, you get home > back them up to your pc, then at least you have two copies.

the first one is a thumbnail, the second is the full file. the thumbnail is a reduced size version of the full file, created from the full file when it was intact. there’s really nothing you can do because the data in the file got mangled. except edit the photo with Photoshop or similar using the thumbnail as a guide.(a lot of work). but like I said, look in your trashbin on your computer for the file. there might be a copy there.

I don’t know what phone you have, but I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (Android), I have Dropbox installed on it, whenever I take a photo it automatically uploads to Dropbox, which I have installed on all my lappies and pc’s maybe something like this would help you ?
