This guy says he’s put 10% recovery in his files….
is there a way to recover all the bad sectors in the rar file?
I tried recovering it using winrars repair utility and ARARv1.2…. but it didn’t work…. do let me know if you guys know of any other.

Seen elsewhere & copied: How to repair a RAR file, if file is corrupt
Often recovery records are included in rar files. This means that if there is ever a problem involving corrupt files, or incorrect password (when you are positive the password is correct), you can repair the offending file(s). Recovery records are redundant data added to the archive. I use a measure of 5%, meaning that if the total size of a file is 190 Mb, then there is 9.5 Mb of extra data added to that file to, in essence, record a record of what the file is supposed to look like so you can reconstruct the original file if there are errors in the download. 5% is more than sufficient for almost any error that can happen. Here is what you need to do:
1. Identify which rar file is corrupted. The error window will tell you this.
2. Open just that file in WinRar.
3. Press Alt+R
4. Click OK in the next window it gives you asking for a location (it is best to just save it to the same location as the rest of the files)
5. It will reconstruct a new rar file for you. The new rar will have the same name as the old one, but it will have “fixed.” prepended to the name.
6. Delete the corrupted rar file.
7. Rename the new file so it does not have the “fixed.” at the beginning of the name anymore (so it has the original name like all the others)
8. Extract as normal.
This will fix the file, and it will extract without error. If there are other damaged files you may need to repeat this for them also. These files have been downloaded hundreds of times without complaint, so I know the files are fine, it is just a result of the transfer from RS to your computer.

Unless it came with a recovery record there’s no chance that repairing it will work.
