Record my Desktop action into Animated GIF

Guys Im in a search for a Screen capture utility or Recorder what ever it is.
I need a Software that Records my Desktop actions into simple ANIMATED GIF file. Not just a image file of .gif extension, i want Animated one.
I’m on vista, so never used a third party screen capture softwares for images as vista got Snipping tool inbuilt. So I donno much abt screen capture softs.
Now I need a recorder that does exactly what I’ve describd above.I need a simple program.
Help me guys!

i just use cam studio….and after your done capturing you can use total video converter to make it into a animated .gif file……..

i think snagit can capture straight to gif. I checked the documentation on their site. Here it is:

Think it isn’t possible to directly record into a .gif image. What you do can do is just record to an .avi file and later convert it with a 3th party software to .gif.. Should to the trick

it just says only a IMAGE file, not animated one ok , tell me a good software that converts .avi to Animated Gif file.Does it takes long time to convert?
But still I prefer Direct recording of ANIMATED gif file

Well I think , Who uses the software knows MUCH better than the google recommends me.
So i just adkd anybody knows some good software that’s it.
