Yes, it is supposed to be connected to the power supply.
thx! card seems to be still geting hot tho..its not turning off or anything..the card itself is hot nothing else…should i invest in a bigger fan? so far im just testing it on wow on “good” think i can bump it up to ultra? or should i address the hot card 1st?

What brand and model.
Some poorly made power supply’s can overheat components.
Had a look at the case and its poorly designed, typical overheating might occur if using some high end graphic cards.
You do know that you have to clean out the dust in your computer once a while.
