PS3 Red Screen

My friend has PS3. He told me that red screen is occurring again and again. He asked me for the solution, that how to solve this. A person told me MAKE YOUR PS3 HARD DRIVE FLASH.
So please somebody tell me what shall i do, to prevent red screen error. It has 160gb hdd. Is there any software of device?

did you use a third party hdmi cable on your ps3 if so you properly bricked your ps3 all you can do is send to ps3 company and hope they will fix it
