Problems with Thief 3 :-(

I have one very nasty problem and I do not know the solution to it . For a Christmas I got a Thief Deadly Shadows original game from my brother (SoldOut software). I installed it and started playing it. What happened is that after 30 sometimes even less minutes it just crashed in a way that it restarted a computer. I was thinking it was a game… but then I noticed that my computer runs slowly… Well yes it has only 50 gb of free space (of 320) but I was wondering if something is “dying in the box”. What’s more, the scan from viruses with eset, malwarebytes super anti spyware and spybot (all simultaneously runned) takes over 2 hours. Is something wrong with hardware or is it just buggy game? Please answer me as best as you can. I would be very grateful if I would know it is just a game or if I need to reinstall Windows. Thanks guys!
Maybe, you should try defragging the hard drive.
Seems to be completely unrelated, I know Thief 3 and Deus Ex can crash while loading leaving you with a blank screen or the loading image until you alt tab or ctrl alt delete because they use a second exe.
