HIS radeon 5770 gpu

HD samsung spin point f1 sata 2

arctic cooling freezer 7

and this case(450W psu)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-017-OP
basically it started runnign but nothing happened (it stayed on but nothing was coming to my screen) then i noticed my 4 pin wasnt connected to the mobo from psu. after i connected it and turned on the pc again it turned off after 1 sec. i removed gpu and 1 ram to see if its the psu, but it still did the same. the mobo is connected with spacers.
i just hope i didnt fry my mobo, its not cheap and its out of stock :s [code]

Answer #1
remove all ram and video card and put back in make sure you hear a click noise and make sure you hook up the cables on the motherboard the right way
like the power button/usd/mic/headphones connectors or one of your components are not compatible with your motherboard or your power supply is not powerful enough try to get a 650w psu
and forgetting to connect the 4 pin power cable for your cpu wont damage your motherboard so don’t worry the only thing you should worry about is if you forgot to put the standoffs on
Answer #2
See whether you are all well connected, make sure that fan is properly connected to the processor, cabbles and so.If everything ok go into bios and put the standard settings. If is not working, try to reset the motherboards CSMOS, restart and see what happens.also check how much you put the paste on the processor, check if your ram memmory is properly installed(make a diagnosis of memory).try to unplug everything and slowly one by one device put on the motherboard until you get some signs of life.

I don’t know how that’s much of a test
I would RMA your motherboard. Asrock isn’t exactly known for it’s quality control

it was late so it was only a quicky. and ye wats RMA ? xD
Answer #6
RMA stands for “Return Merchandise Authorization”
basically it’s a procedure for replacing a faulty product.
Back to the actual issue,There are 3 possible reasons
for this to happen:
1. Improperly seated CPU
2. Motherboard is touching the case (I think we can rule that one out^)
3. Bad PSU My opinion,Has to be #3,The PSU is cheap crap and you have a very power demanding
system,You should never buy the CASE+PSU combined (Unless it’s an Antec case)
as 99% of PSUs bundled with cases are pure junk! Better get one of these:

Meh the CX500 is nothing special. Probably the same quality as the PSU inside that case of his. It’s a CWT DSA platform and is rated 500W at 30C (yeah right). It’s not deserving of the Corsair name. You can get better for the money

what are the standoffs?
these are standoff behind the motherboard so it will not touch the case

thanks guys, ye i ut the right stand offs in the right space i double checked, i called standoffs spacers lol. and for the psu i didnt know the ones which come with cases are crap, my first build xD. so you dont think i fried or short cuicuited my cpu right?
Answer #10
it might be you cpu or your video card is not getting enough power to it how much stuff it connected to the power supply like cpu
video (single or dual)
cd/dvd 1 or 2 or 3
hard drives 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 to 6
and plug & play devices like keyboard/mouse/webcam/controls please post the full spec of your computer
Answer #11
i mean mobo not cpu sry. i have cpu, arctic fan(not the one that comes with cpu), 2gb+2gb dual channel dd3 ram 1600mhz, 1 5770 video card, 1 hdd, 1optical drive, 1 monitor LCD, keyboard and mouse, headset. thats all.
Answer #12
may i just say, if you can try putting the ram at 1333MHz, some phenom chips will not work with 1600MHz. i know sounds whacky but thers lots of threads on the net where that chip just is not stable with 1600MHz ram.

But if its a mem problem it wont shutdown after 1 sec, @ the BIOS it will show an error or the mobo will beep.
Answer #14
ram is the least of my concerns, mobo and cpu are they are the most expensive. and beside they can always be modified from the bios.
Answer #15
sry for the double post but i need some answers :s
i got a hols of an ezcool 700w psu, the same problem occured still, after some testing different ram slots etc, i removed evrythin leaving only the psu with the 4 and 20 pin connected, it still did the same thing.
does this imply that the motherboard is faulty?
Answer #16
I had a similiar problem not too long ago… bugged the crap out of me cause all the parts were new… Sadly something went buggy in the PSU and it started sending the wrong voltages… my case: BAD PSU.
test your machine with another PSU.
Swap out with known GOOD parts from another machine… best answer I can give you.
Answer #17
have you connected the pci express plug to your ati 5700? have you checked with your mobo manual all the power pins are in correct lactation? have you checked your ram is in the correct slots? try and boot with a single stick if all these are correct either you don’t have enough power or a dead/faulty mobo
