please explain ram

Hi all my dad has a gig of ram in his desktop computer he wants it to preform fast ive already said to put more ram in it he has a duel core processor and running XP, will the ram make it faster if we bought 4gig 2x 2gig cards and if so how do i know what type to get ive herd about DDR2 and something else but how do i know which one he would need thanks for any help Gaz

Read the user guide (manual)..It will tell you what RAM is compatible…

Post the name and Model of your Motherboard/Laptop…

how many sticks does he have now? anyway, pull one out and read what is written on it. there should be a sticker which will say what company and how many mHz and how many Mb. also check out how many slots for memory you got there (to match how many you need to buy/ you can put)

Ram will make his computer faster. Buy another gig. Your OS sounds bloated, reformat also.

Ram means, random access memory, and it’s all about; “how many informations your computer have” If you want to increase your pc speed,
take up to 2GB ram, and take new good CPU.

just had the side off his pc its DDR2 ram so is it a case of just buying two 1 gig cards and swapping them for it two 512mb cards
