Photoshop cs3 not working :(

When i try to open files or create a new image photoshop freezes up stops responding!!
It does the same thing no matter what photoshop i use. So i am guessing it has something to do with my laptop… It is a HP Pavililion tx 2000. Vista . Its one of those tablet laptops.
Has anyone had the same or similar problem?
Can anyone help me pleaseeeeeee?

If youre not deep into Photoshop, you can try the portable version of Photoshop CS4

thats what i have. CS3 portable and CS4 Portable. They both stop working after a few days
