Help getting a working version of photoshop

A friend has been trying to help me get Photoshop free for me and so far we have tried 2 different links and they both have failed to work (the application itself not the download). I think it might have something to do with the fact that I have Windows7. I already have WinRaR and 7zip but I still can’t seem to find a working version. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why cant you get them to work? what errors do you get?

‘you are not allowed to write the registry continue?’ and when i click ok nothing happens and i also get ”The program can’t start because MSVCP80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”. those were with 2 different downloads and different links

ok i downloaded and then extracted it and when i open it a gray window pops up for literally half a second and then closes. I can see on the taskbar that it is indeed photoshop but it won’t stay open any longer.
Did i do something wrong?

did u right hand click run as admin
[EDIT] PS that is a portable ver so can keep it on a usb stick and use it on any pc
