Paypal Limited account?

October 28th, 2013

Got this message from paypal:
Why is my account access limited?
13 Nov 2011: To help protect our customers' accounts, we routinely review account activity. It appears that you have more than one account, and one has engaged in activity that violates our User Agreement.
As a result, we've restricted both accounts. You'll still be able to log in to view your transaction history, but you won't be able to send or receive money.

I don’t have more than one account and I have not used my account for anything Different or stupid?! I just dont get it?!
3 people I know told me they had the same happen to their account and their account never worked after that even do they called paypal they wouldn’t reactivate their account?!
Any suggestions on how to get my account back to normal would be helpful. Thanks

Paypal are nazi-esque arses anyway… it’s just that there’s not much similar and useful and EBay attached.
Answer #3
I think I got this before, but it reactivated when i connected a CC.
Answer #4
Paypal is a disgusting company with no decency, I’d suggest using a different company.
Answer #5
I’ve never had any problems dealing with Paypal or E-bay (same company) here in the UK, and it’s pretty easy getting through to them on a local call rate number, so cheap to ring from a mobile (020 8605 3000 for people in UK)
Try ringing them it would be quicker than e-mailing. Just Google for a local contact number.

Thanks for all your coments

3 of my friends got their account limited the same day as me and their accounts were also legitimate with no funny business at all. They contacted paypal and all paypal said was that its done for security reasons and that they will never again be able to use their accounts. They wouldn’t even tell them what security reason was or if they will ever get their money back from their accounts. Am dreading calling them as they might do the same nasty thing to me. :S And I have a large amount of money on mine and also things selling and buying on ebay. Its really going to mess up my ebay account up as well

Not much choice if you selling on ebay. What would you suggest?
Answer #7
Paypal are idiots.
I got mine limited too.
:\
Answer #8
Paypal also don’t seem to subject to any of the so-caller ‘watchdog’ organisations either… I think they lack the balls to tackle th ePayPal/EBay combo..
PP actions are unreasonable and reprehensible, they truly are scum.
Answer #9
So these alternatives to paypal that we can use on Ebay? Because if you’re not on ebay, then you’re way behind on amazon and anything beyond that and you’ll be lucky if anyone knows what you’re selling? What are the PP alternatives that don’t rob or withhold money from you on Ebay?
Answer #10
Thats it I lost my account and probably the £75 I have on it… All my 20 odd items on ebay selling what am ment to do with them now? All the stuff I have paid for is on hold how am I going to pay for these items?
What are the alternatives? Is there any? This is daylight robbery…
I wouldn’t feel this bad about this if I had done any thing I shouldn’t have and got banned for doing it… but my account was 100% legitimate…
This is all they said:
For the safety and security of the PayPal network, we often review
accounts for potential risks. After reviewing your account, we have
decided to close it because of security issues.
We are making every effort to minimise any disruption to your business.
If your PayPal account balance is zero, and you have no unresolved buyer
complaints or chargebacks, your account will remain limited.

If you’re in America, sue them with a no-win-no-fee lawyer.
Make the lawyer get them to prove you have breached the agreements.
Or, make a public case of it, or write to newspapers and computer magazines.

You can change the listings to accept alternative payment methods, like cheque, cash, money order. Change the dispatch times to when funds have cleared to cover yourself.
If you have sent money already via Paypal, it should have been paid to the seller already – check directly with the sellers and explain.

When you checkout, just don’t use your Paypal a/c, use a credit/debit card.
E-bay and Paypal use IP and Cookie combos to check irregularities in accounts, so creating a new a/c won’t get around it unless you completely wipe your cookies and change IP.
*Edit – I would imagine they get suspicious with a/c’s that are using the same IP, such as school/uni wi-fi.

.

Attempted that and this is what I got.
Please provide the correct information in the highlighted fields.
* Email address for receiving payment – To ensure security on the eBay marketplace, it is now mandatory for all listings to offer PayPal as a payment method. Enter a valid email address in order to receive payments.
Guess that’s it… No more eBay for me… if any one can suggest any thing please do as am screwed if I cant do ebay any more as a lot off my income comes from me selling my bits and bats…

Well, if you can suffer the loss of the $75 or whatever, just start another PP account with another email address (gmail, or your isp should offer more than one, most do).

Use a VPN.
You will just have to remember to keep using that particular VPN server for E-bay and Paypal. Choose a server near to where you live.

This is, if he’s had his account cancelled, he’s now a new customer.
Secondly I always delete every cookie every day, I’m not having those arsestains tracking what i do!
It’s still worth a try, after all, all they can do is refuse a new account.
Whatever you do, always keep your PP balance at or near zero.
Paypal are NOT trustworthy – I’ve seen people with 1000’s of dollars in their Pp get cancelled for those same bull-~love~ reasons..
