Odd boot up problem (Solved, please remove)

August 12th, 2013

Hi all I have an annoyance more than anything in when I boot up in win 7 it hangs at the windows screen and won’t go further and I know the problem is my external drives because when they are not in the usb port my pc boots up fine. Could this be the autoplay from the external drives that are causing the pc to not fully boot up and if so how can I correct this.
Thanks a lot guys/gals for any advice offered.
Tim

Install HD Sentinel Pro v3.70, and check the health on the externals.
You might just need to run chkdsk on them, or your pc might be trying to boot from them, happens sometimes, especially when there are slight power fluctuations.
Go into your BIOS (tap F2 on boot) and make sure you have USB HDD’s right down at the bottom, and your primary OS HDD right at the top of the boot order.

Edit:: Thanks Meerkat it was one of my WD drives that was stuck in Virtual CD
