No harddrive?

Hello when i install XP(Download here)on compaq labtop.It says that It’s dosen’t have hard Drive on labtop.But when i install vista it dosen’t say such a problem.what might be wrong?
Note:
Laptop is designed for xp.

what’s on there now ?
do you have a boot CD with a pattition app on it, try deleting the partition on the drive 1st, then install XP

You need SATA driver, and you must to integrate in xp with nlite, because you don`t have floppy.
you can download from here:

and use nlite to integrate them, is very easy
