NIC/ Lan card issue

August 5th, 2016

hello everyone, my lan card is acting weird, it after sometime does not let any data pass through it, although it shows that it is connected to the internet also if i use my mobile’s wifi the net is coming { so no issue with router }. it will start working again when :-
-if i disconnect the wire from the lan card and reconnect it after sometime it will work again
-If i uninstall the driver from the device manager and reinstall it { but after sometime it goes back to the problem again, if i do this 4-5 times it won’t work anymore I have to restart the computer and it will work and the entire story goes again}.
-Even tried to completely remove the driver and update and fresh install the driver{ does not resolve the issue}
i am using inbuilt NIC of MB Asus M5a97 Evo R2.0 which is RealtekĀ® 8111F, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller(s)
Please help me resolve this issue Or should i buy another NIC/Wifi dongle

Answer #1
Did you try a different cable?
Answer #2
Yes I just changed my ISP first one was using static ip and the second one is using PPP logins
Answer #3
I meant the cable you connect between your router and your PC..
You need to try another cable..
If that fails..Buying a network card will solve the problem..They are dirt cheap..
Answer #4
Ok will try that too
Answer #5
Does sound like a cable issue.
I believe you’ve downloaded from here?
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_EVO_R20/HelpDesk_Download/
Latest chipset also?
Could you try disabling the power-saving management on the ethernet driver?
