cpu issue

i recently upgraded from a 3200 to a 4200 cpu the issue is it still shows that the 3200 is running and not the new processor i tryed googling it but the only thing i found was reset the jumper and pop out the cmos battery but i had already tryed that with no success. anymore help on how to change it over would be helpful thanks

What do you mean by 3200 and 4200? The model of the CPU? Also, is your motherboard set to operate at the same FSB that your processor?? It’s very important that it is because it can damage the processor. You can check that setting in the BIOS. Goof luck mate ^_^

its an amd athlon 3200+ to a amd 64×2 dual-core im still wondering how you change it over

so appreantly everything is compatible becuase your computer powers on and works
so, have you seen change in performance?
Well if there is a bios update for your computer than that may help, that bios may not be made for thae processor you have, i am not to sure about this though mate, if you still have a warrenty call the manufacturer

there is a f9 update for the bios for the 4200 i download it but it doesn’t seem to work im running vista so that might be another problem
