New GFX Card, Help To See What is Compatible

January 21st, 2020

Okay well i have upgraded my ram to 2 gbs and i just uprgraded my sound card to a creative sound blaster audigy SE. Now i want to upgrade my video card. Right now i have a nvidia geforce fx 5200. Now first of all i need to know what i am using AGP, PCI, Or PCI-E. This tower is 4 yrs old. But i have upgraded the ram and sound card like i said. I am pretty sure it’s pci, because the sound card i bought needs a PCI slot 2.1 compliant. I just want to make sure so that i don’t order off newegg and have to send it back and pay a restocking fee. Okay anyways, i want a card that can fit in my pc. The Model Is PCV-RS710G. It’s a sony vaio. Remember i upgraded the ram and sound card. Anyways i want a video card that is some where from 100 – 150. I don’t want to spend over that money. I need a card that is PCI. But i need someone to tell me if its PCI. I want it to be an nvidia XFX. That fits in pci and can handle my power supply. Once again i don’t know if i have pci slot or the power supply wattage. If there is a way to find this information out by opening the tower, then i will do that. I just need someone tell let me know. Thanks Alot & Merry Christmas

You need PCI-Express not PCI…..big dif there.
Heres your specs.

No listing on your PSU but being a Sony you can be sure It’s a small one…..anywhere from 250 to 400watts….I’d be surprised If It’s close to 400 though.

PCI-E for your video..
(PCI slots are only used for things like sound, modem etc..)
