Video Card Compatible with this Board?

August 3rd, 2016

I have this old desktop PC, I’m planning to upgrade it a bit to use it again, it has the old video card Nvidia geforce 6150 se which is near to useless(nothing)(i think it is onboard graphic card) not sure if i can upgrade it. I want to use it for casual gaming, maybe some latest games in medium settings. I’m planning to get a low end graphic card for it, because i doubt that it can still support the latest graphic cards. Here’s what I’m planning to get SAPPHIRE HD5570 1GB DDR3 128BIT, SAPPHIRE HD6570 1GB DDR3 128BIT or PALIT GT620 2GB SDDR3 64BIT. What do you think is the best?
My PC specs:
Ram: 4gb ddr2
Motherboard: ECS Geforce 6100pm-m2 version 2
Athlon x2 64

According to PassMark benchmarks, the HD6570 is the best of them..
If you can afford a bit extra, I would go for the HD7770. Performs well .

Thanks for answering. Do you think that it is compatible with my motherboard?

Your motherboard has a PCI-E (PCI Express) 1.0 slot, PCI-E is the current standard for video
cards, So any would fit (And newer PCI-E revisions are backwards compatible)
But you may run into issues with the card not getting enough power (Depending on your PSU) or
not fitting in the case (If it’s too long, Better check the card’s dimensions and do some internal measuring before purchasing!) But if you ask me, You’d be best saving up more money and doing a complete upgrade!
There’s not much of a point upgrading a video card of such a low-end, outdated computer.

I’d actually say to get the HD 5570 (though slower than the HD 6570), mainly because both will probably be bottlenecked by your rig anyway, so might as well save some money and go for the cheaper one.

Thanks. Maybe, I will just get a new pc with AMD TRINITY A10 5800K 4.2GHZ what do you think? Can it support all the new games?

Not all new games on high resolution according to the reviews…
Pretty much equivalent to an i3 3220 as a CPU and a HD6570 as a GPU.
( Referring to the A10 6800K, which is the latest version)
I have the 5800K but use a HD7770 for improved graphics…Which kinda defeats the purpose of an APU !
Plenty of reviews and benchmarks around..Here’s one..

How is the gaming experience with 5800K with HD7770?
