Network error

August 7th, 2016

For a while now, some hotfixes ago, I have been having trouble with Windows Vista network file transferring. I have a network with a file server, and this computer is connected to the network via wireless G.
The problem is, Windows Vista doesn’t like transferring files over the strong signalled stable network, producing errors such as “there is a problem accessing x…” at random intervals for the majority of large file transfers. This occurs for both reading and writing data onto the file server. These tasks can be achieved flawlessly using Windows XP and Linux, the error is with Windows Vista only.
After searching, this is similar to the error I am receiving
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932045
I am already running SP1, and I tried the hotfix that they recommended, but it says that the update is not applicable to this system (I have tried both the x86 version and the x64 version, as I am running x64)
I can almost rule network related issues, as I monitor the network regularly, and it is a fairly stable and very low error producing network, and the file transfers work flawlessly on both Windows XP and Linux (on the same computer).
Any ideas?

Sometimes the transfers work, but most of the time, the error above occurs at random intervals

Answer #3
check to see if your still downloading the file as your transferring it
Answer #4
check to see if your still downloading the file as your transferring it
Why would I transfer a file while it is still being downloaded? That doesn’t make any sense.
The link in the first post states clearly that this is a Vista bug, but I want to know if anybody knows a way to fix it.
