Need help with dell laptop that won’t boot into windows

August 2nd, 2013

I tried sfc offline, all the bootrec.exe commands, chkdsk /f /r and everything else and no luck. This laptop computer with a factory restore partition but even that isn’t working, computer boots and goes straight into start up repair and fails to boot.
I’m thinking if a MBR virus in the computer, I run DR WEB LIVE CD, no luck, nothing at all.
The computer is a dell n7110 OS is 64 bit home premiun.
It has to be a MBR virus that’s not making it load up, even with a factory restore it still won’t load.
Please help.

Seems like your best bet would be to get and use a recovery disk. What was going on before your computer failed to boot?
Answer #2
it had a rootkit and once i removed it the computer couldnt boot, I have a recovery disk and that isn’t working either. I also have a restore partition and that has failed as well. I’m installing a test win 7 on the c drive and if that boots up then it’s something wrong with the recovery partition, that is really the only option right now.

If your computer is unbootable and has a virus, you should just re-install the OS!
