I would like to help but I don’t know any big computers shops in UK other than overlockers and pcworld, and the link you provided is the best 17″ I could find among those. If you know any other sites I can have a look.

These are the ones that stuck out. And I know there are loads of shops but mindlessly googling won’t give me which of these offer the best prices.Btw I assume you will not be carrying around this, since 17″ are hard to do so.

adding a T6400, not getting an OS gave me a price of 683 inc VAT and Delivery.

Ok, little change on the upper limit, RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) sent me a letter about my bank account being upgraded to a student account and i get 100 off Asus Laptops (YAY!) when the laptops are priced between 599 to 799 (perfectly fits my price bracket)
But they need to be phurchesed from www.Asus.co.uk
But you carnt buy them off the website, so you need to get them from one of these places

Some of the last ones you provided contains screen smaller than 17″. These are three you should look at imo.

I dont know how about you, but i would chose it…
I have this one
15.4″
C2D & 2.0GHz
3GB DDR2 RAM
320GB HDD
GF 8200M with 512MB of video memory
and i am satisfied. I do not game on this laptop… Just programing, video convering and so on…

The weight is not a problem, if its over 5KG then I might consider a bag, but the reason i want a 17″ is because I will be using it when im at home more then when im at uni as i will also have my PC (im home for 22 weeks of the year) and dont like small screens, thats why 17″+ is perfect for me.
I get 100 off Asus laptops so im looking at Asus laptops (costing about 600)
WHY IS IT SOOO HARD TO FIND ASUS LAPTOPS IN THE UK FROM A RETAILER…
