Need a new virus protection

January 25th, 2020

Hey all looking for some advice on what virus protection to download, I’m currently on Windows 8.1 and use IE11 looking for a decent program!

You don’t need one. I’ve used windows defender and firewall for years and not got a virus.

seems offtopic turning into helpdesk now so it is same as me TCD i never use any antis on me lappys and never have problems

No AV here, I completely disabled Windows Firewall, UAC, Windows Defender and still no virus yet since 2010.
But if YOU must, Kaspersky.

I been doing those AVG’s with the 2018 serials…installed it literally 30+ times the last 4 years on friends computers…I combine it with malwarebytes and ill assure you I have no viruses

Scrapped IE too buggy, now on Chrome. How is it safe to run with nothing, no windows defender or firewall??

Nod32 run in the background.
When scanning I use malwarebyte and spybot.

Dangerous virus wont be on your system (which you will notice like low performance etc) but those minor one that just lurk around your pc without affecting anything noticeable x.x Scan once in a while wont hurt. Feeding your info while surfing is not that great.
Remember there are more than 1 way (download) for virus and other stuff to get into your system.

How is it safe to run with nothing, no windows defender or firewall??it’s NOT safe, don’t let anyone fool you. there are too many ways to put a virus on your computer, besides from surfing, there’s programs you download that need to be checked for viruses. I use Kaspersky internet security.

Norton 360 if on Desktop
Bit Defender Total Security if on Laptop —> Includes anti-theft solution. So, even if laptop is stolen, you could locate it

for speed, ESET Smart Security 7, for best protection, Kaspersky IS or Pure. Tried BitDefender but didn’t like the GUI.
