My Wireless is not working? help

hi, i just installed xp performance edition on my “Hp Pavilion Dv1000” laptop. Its a pretty old laptop. before i had XP: home edition. now that i installed this new xp, the wireless button is not working. i mean, when i push the button, it doesnt light up. i dont think this a hardware error, i think that the driver are old. but im kinda new to this and i dont really know what drivers to install. i tried some from the hp website and they didnt help at all. so, if anyone knows about this can you please help me? the laptop is: Hp Pavilion Dv1000. Wireless card( i think): realtek rtl8139 family fast ethernet nic

AND CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THE SOUND CARD DRIVERS TOOO? CUZ THE SPEAKERS DONT WORK EITHER. THANKS

@ indian hits – uhh. if the network is unlocked, you can use it….
@ Die Fool – Look underneath the notebook. And look for the service tag (white). Then, look on that tag. The device name should start with dv1.
For example dv1029ca
……………… dv1546us
……………… dv1903vu
Stuff like that
