Rock/metal = Guitar, Bass, drums or violine (Really, it sounds cool).

if ur thinking about making loops and stuff fruity loops is realy good for techno and stuff. but if ur thinking of writing a score( maybe like a soundtrack to a movie with alot of violin and other stuff) then gigastudio,or finalee music makers are the best

Sorry to say too both of you, But you can produce any sort of music on fruity loops!

Yep, basically there is no limit to the stuff that you can produce using FL. Since you can always import sounds into the FL library and use them and you can also compose your own beats and melodies in it it pretty much the best non-professional program out there

Fruity loops and Reason 4.0 would be my pick and recommendation, download them here at wbb and apply the patch like I did, then enjoy making techhno and whatever else you want.
