if u have a keyboard with drum effects on it that also can be connected to a pc its pretty easy to record and mix usin logic pro or reason or cuebase im a drummer myself but i mostly use my electric yamaha kit
I highly recommend using FL Studio for drum effects
You can either buy a MIDI drumkit (Best choice for live stuff, but obviously not free), or go and download a DAW of your choice, like Sonar (hated it personally, too fussy), Ableton (Lovin it so far), Cubase (same as sonar, for modern cubase versions). If you have a Mac, or access to one, you could go one step further and get a copy of LOGIC (Best DAW in existence, that I know of).
Also, Ableton might be the perfect one for you, as a performing artist, because you could take the live aspects of ableton (which is its selling point) and combine them with the best VST drum kits, like BATTERY and KONTAKT (I dont know any others, sorry). these VST’s and RTAS kits come fully loaded with shed loads of WAV drum hit one shots, and you can use your own!
You’ll find it all on here anyway, hope this helps man! Good look with the gigging!
Hm…
Thanks, but it has been quite some time since I posted this, hence I have learnt a lot more.
I now use EZ Drummers Drum Kit From Hell, and Acoustica mixcraft!
Mixcraft is the best and easiest to use!
It Offers almost all the features offered by Cubase and Live too!
