Define “good price” for the GTX 295 and how much it’ll cost for the GTX 460 in where you’re going to buy it.
Answer #3
yup, stick with the 295
it’s around twice as fast as the 460
Answer #4
it's around twice as fast as the 460
More around 50% faster
Imo you should sell the 295 right now because later on you wont get a good deal on it

the major upgrade of DX11 is better multi-threading
which is not hardware dependent Hardware tessellation and Shader Model 5.0 require Direct3D 11 supporting hardware
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directx_10

if you think the these ^^ are worth taking a major performance hit
then the 460 is the way to go
you can compare specs here

Not a good move from a GTX395 to a GTX460.
There is no great card for you to upgrade too right now. Hold onto it into next year. DX11 is still pretty insignificant.

Well its GTX 295 not 395
Answer #11
typo..but yeh.
Answer #12
The 295 probably matches (if not beats) the 460 yet its power draw and heat are prob similar to the 460 / 480 making a move impractical. Unless you use GPGPU applications and or need DX11 – stick with your 295.
Answer #13
Well in my opinion your card is just going to become more of a paperweight the longer you wait as it’s value decreases everyday. I’d sell the 295, get a 6870 right now and get one more down the road.

Still i am with my Gtx 295
