Movies Too Dark

January 20th, 2020

On most movies I have, the dark parts are TOO dark. It look fine when there isn’t darkness (I know because all my anime have bright scenes then dark scenes and i can tell a big difference). what can i do to change it? i tried setting brigthness on my monitor to max, but that doesn’t change anything.
i got an nvidea 7900 GS if that matters at all.

Answer #1
What are most movies? DVDRips or TS, CAMS….
Answer #2
i’m pretty sure they’re rips, but i think i’ve fixed it with the nVidea control panel. turned up the gamma and saturation.
Answer #3
Also some player like GOM or VLC let you adjust the brightness and gamma etc. This might be handy if the rest was ok, so you won’t have to brighten your overall settings in nvdidia panel.

the nVidea control panel let me just change settings for Movies and video rather than the whole thing (there’s desktop color, then video color)

just hit the brightness on your monitor and turn it back down when you are done.
Answer #10
I dunno if any of the stuff you have is High Definition (HD) but someone I know had a similiar problem with HD …… he couldn’t see anything although his AVI’s played OK.
Eventually sorted it out with a HD player like PowerDVD (which supports HD)
