Microphone trouble

I have recently upgraded my computer to windows 7 and everything seemed to be working just fine, but when I tried talking to my friends in Ventrilo no one could hear me. So I did all the basic checking. It sees my microphone and everything is installed correctly. The only problem is it can’t hear anything. I’ve changing my mic port to the front, checked my settings, I’ve even tried reinstalling my driver, and still nothing. Can anyone help?

sure the mic works? If you only have that one try putting in a pair of headphones and see if you can make any noise there. (then atleast you can conclude it aint the mic.).
