Laptop Power Problem. [PLEASE HELP]

January 21st, 2020

For the past few weeks, my laptop hasn’t been turning on when I press the power button.
I always have to take out my battery, press the power button a bunch of times, plug it in, and then turn it on. Then I put the battery in after it’s on.
However, lately it seems to be getting worse. Somethings it takes me 10 minutes to finally get it to turn on.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you!

I’ve seen similar issues on my lappy. The culprit is the “control strip” above the keyboard. It might be damaged. http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=2663&prevaction=category&previd=141&prevstart=0%C2%A0
It’s the most probable issue on laptops. Try removing the cable,Cleaning it and re-inserting it and see if it works else, You’ll need to buy the cable and replace existing ones.

Charge light comes on, power button works sometimes when the laptop is on.
Answer #4
power button works sometimes
sounds like it’s a power button problem then
can you remove the strip that holds the plastic power button to try the metal button it pushes against to see if that one works every time
Answer #5
I’ve pressed it like 100 times in a row and it doesn’t work. Then I take out the battery, plug it in, wait a bit and it’ll work after a few more tries.
Answer #6

Yes. Control Strip is the culprit. Just Give it to a Service Center. You can have it replaced in a day or two.

What makes you guys so sure that it’s the Control Strip? Just curious. Thanks.
Answer #9
Control Strip?
I think it’s the power button, or the connection under/between the plastic button you push & metal button under it
