read it wrong, yes the dual core is faster
1. That core 2 duo is a dual core processor, that pentium is a single core
2. the core 2 duo can perform more work / hz then that pentium
3. Ghz where used as a reference years ago, those standards don’t work anymore unless you are comparing 2 of the same processors (exampe E8400 vs E8700). Ghz are only used now to mislead people that aren’t into hardware.

Ghz are only used now to mislead people that aren’t into hardware.Then why are the people are that are hardware fanactics that spend thousands into their hardware do so much work just to achieve a tiny extra frequency?
GHz is still important. Those that tell you otherwise have no idea what they’re talking about. However that’s NOT when comparing a Core 2 to a Pentium 4. If comparing an E8500 for example at 4.5GHz to a Core i7 at stock settings the E8500 will be faster at just about everything. Not every app/game can take advantage of 4 yet alone the 8 threads found in an i7 processor.
