Is there any way to reset my computers registry

System restore.
Agreed, but its been a while since i fiddled with it so the restore doesn’t go back that far…
Then format your computer and redo it ^^
Maybe this would help you:

If not, reformat XP and do a clean install.

That’s for restoring backups of the registry previously made. I don’t know how to restore the registry to ‘mint’ condition, but it would bring on a LOT of problems anyway. For example, 80% of the programs you have installed would not work properly, because many applications create registry settings.
It’s definitely not the way to go. If you want a truly clean system, then you should reformat. Another thing to take into consideration is to backup your entire registry before you install an obscure application. Then, if it messes your registry up, uninstall it, and restore the registry.
+1 ^^
Install some thing like Tune Up 2007 to clean your registry, files etc..That can do backups if required…
Win XP Manager is another one that I found very thorough but safe
use a registry / password editor that can be found on hiren’s boot cd (I think)…
