is my external HDD dying?

first, for a few months now, i couldn’t move files from F:/ to other folders, or the files would just corrupt.
this has been happening ever since one of my pc died, and i used to just plug and unplug the ex. HDD between the 2 PCs and use it to transfer files
could this have caused some kind of crash on the HDD?
and lately, when i download rar files onto it, when i extract, sometimes it says read error in the file, cyclic redundancy check
wtf is going on?
what can i do?

thats probably is hdd problem, to make sure next time can be function properly, reformat ur whole external hdd only resplit it, it can prevent the problem from occurring, but there’s chance that that is ur files or os problem, try do it on another comp and see whether you got the same problem from before

looks like you may have some bad sectors on your HDD. Take a look:

save the crucial files, format the whole thing, partition the hdd again and restart..

try the drive out side of its external case in pc or with adaptor incase its an interface fault

i am doing the error checking now, but its stuck in stage 4 and when i click on the hdd in my computer, it says access denied!!! fvck…..
