Is it possible to get movie 700MB in mkv format?
January 2nd, 2014
The size of a mkv movie depends on the resolution and quality that the ripper decides upon, so there is no set size as such..
Many 720p movies may be around the 700MB mark or more, as you will see if you look through the Movies forum..
Avi/DivX movies are often made 700MB so they will fit on a CD with can then be played on a DivX compatible stand alone DVD player.
Mkv movies cannot be played on DVD players(without conversion), so there is no real need to stick to a particular size..
As a general rule,standard definition .mkv (x264/AVC codecs)movies of 300 – 400MB are of equivalent quality to 700MB .avi (DivX/XviD codecs).

Yep, some Blu-ray players will do .mkv and some newer TVs will do it via USB.
Also media players can do it via USB or hard drive.
