Is it possible to change resolution other than the options?

January 21st, 2020

Hey guys,
Is it possible to change the resolution other than the options available?
My screen resolution is currently on the max (1024×768) but I’m having a widescreen monitor which supports 1600×900. Is this possible, or any widescreen format? I’ve got a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128MB gpu.
Thanks in advance.

Once your new monitor will be hooked up you will
be able to use that resolution. I hope you have DVI
tho otherwise it could be difficult.

I updated the driver, i replugged the DVI cable.. and still the only possible options are 800×640 and 1024×768.
If it changes anything: It’s an HP 2009 Series WIDE LCD monitor

Is your monitor recognized by it’s model or as “Default Monitor”?
If as default then you should install it’s driver.
Answer #4
its possible the video card wont support the higher resolution
Answer #5
I’ve installed the motherboard driver, not the graphics driver. I’ve searched on the specific card and downloaded the driver. Restarted computer and automaticly 1600*900 was chosen. Thanks very much anyway!
