Ipod Touch Screen Won’t Turn On

August 7th, 2013

EDIT:
Alright. So i replaced the screen and it would display all white for a couple of seconds but now it won’t even show that. The computer still recognizes it though. What else could be the problem?

I bought this 3rd gen ipod touch from a friend for only $40. It powers up, iTunes recognizes it, but I can’t see anything; only a white screen appears. I’m thinking I need to replace the screen?
Here are some pictures:

Yes I have googled this, which is what I always do before posting in this section. It’s not the white screen of death. I believe it has something to do with a bad lcd screen, but no one seems to want to input their opinion on the matter. I ordered a replacement lcd screen to see if this will solve the problem.

You need to purchase the Digitizer + LCD Screen.

Why purchase a new digitizer? Mine seems to be in great condition. Does it have something to do with a new LCD screen?

If the digitizer is good then you need not replace it.

umm – the digitizer ?
Edit – or it’s a dud lcd, or a dud connector, or it’s not connected properly.
