hey,
i live in mauritius and i use the myt service for internet.
well, my download speed is about 60kb/s
but i was told that this speed could be increased
there`s some sort of trick that must be done…
if anyone knows about it, please inform me

try using a download manager
such as
idm / internet download manager
of Jdownloader
you can find them in apps here on
also look at your providers website to see which max speed they promise you

your speed is limited according to your bandwidth or if some programs or some restriction is in place, you get a low speed. theoretically, if yours is a 512 kbps connection, you speed should be in the range of 60-64. if it is a 512 connection, you can’t help it. but if it is faster, then you need to do something

I am too using 512 plan and my average speed for a download is 55 (its vary from 45 – 70 in a single download)
Download manager, most if not all free download service did not support it. If you are paid/premium user it will help increase the speed slightly.
Your speed of 60 is very good for a 512 plan.
There are no software that can increased your speed beyond your subscription plan unless you can hack your isp

Yeah you can higher speed too…this is the same prblm happening to me!
My friend has 256 kbps plan,but he get 250+ speed..n i have the very same plan but my speed is still 30 kbps….
BUT after some time,in his bill i saw this – elite unlimited 256 kbps plan
whereas my bill shows – unlimited 256 kbps plan
So check your plan with your friend…call ISP

well, when the isp says 512, it does not necessarily mean exactly 512. it may be more or less. mine says 512 and my downloads speeds are around 60-70. my speed is more than 512 even though the bill says 512

there is no hack or shortcut for this problem , u have to simply contact ur service provider and confirm abt ur connection package……

Your maximum download speed is the line speed divided by eight. So a 512 Kbps line has a maximum speed of 512/8 = 64 KB/s
The trick you’re talking about is hacking your modem (of which I have no idea) but, if you do, can land you in a lot of trouble (the ISP can track you down).

i was using 512 until last week 512 only goes up to 70kb/s
